Armory Square Hotels
The Jefferson Clinton Hotel was originally
built in 1927 as an 11 story upscale 122 room hotel to be utilized by patrons arriving to downtown Syracuse. Following Black Thursday, or otherwise known as the Stock Market Crash of 1929, and the ensuing Great Depression of the 1930's, the hotel was unable to sustain itself. After a series of failed ownership, the hotel was eventually taken over by the City of Syracuse for back taxes.
New ownership restored the property and opened the hotel with sixty-eight luxury suites; they elected to join the Hawthorn Suites franchise, a Hyatt owned company. From its opening in June 2001 the Jefferson Clinton Hotel was recognized six consecutive years as a Quality Award Winner, including other honors such as Hotel of the Year 2003.
After completing a renovation in 2007 we made a commitment to something we call Sustainable Hospitality. Others might call it Going Green, Environmentalism, etc. Whatever it is you want to call it, we want to make sure that your lodging experience is as healthy as it is enjoyable.
